Are you interested in standing to become a Newport City Councillor? Would you like to know more about what’s involved in applying to become a candidate and standing for election?
There will be a session on Monday 26th July at 6:30pm for anyone who is interested in applying to potentially stand as a Labour candidate, covering the following:
- The role of the councillor and the local authority
- Expectations and the responsibilities of being a Councillor
- The panel process and how to apply to be a candidate
- How the selection of candidates to stand for election works
There will also be plenty of time for you to ask any questions that you might have
Attending this session is not a commitment to apply – you can attend without any pressure to take the next steps.
The session is open to all Labour members. If you’ve already applied or had an interview then you don’t need to come along.
