Councillor Cliff Suller intervenes to get damaged road repaired

  • Thanks to the intervention of Councillor Cliff Suller, the stretch of road at the entrance to the Green Meadows building site on the Ponthir Road has now been resurfaced at the developers’ expense. The road had been getting progressively more damaged because of construction traffic.

FOOTNOTE: In January 2011 Councillor Gail Giles attended the Planning Committee and strongly objected to the application for 54 new houses on the McCreeady’s site, Ponthir Road. The Committee agreed to undertake a site visit which Gail also attended. Gail was the only Caerleon Ward Member to attend these meetings and object to this large development. The other two ward councillors at the time were both Conservatives.
