Dame Rosemary, the Mayor and our councillors get to meet Sir Colin

  • Dame Rosemary Butler, Mayor Cliff Suller, Mayoress Christine Suller, Councillors Gail Giles and Paul Huntley and many others joined in the launch of this year’s Festival season at the Hanbury Quay with the raising of  Owain Glyndwr’s flag over the Tower under the watchful eye of Sir Colin – a steel sculpture created for the Festival by Belgian artist Thierry Lauwers.

Rosemary is the patron of the Festival and the three councillors are all active supporters and donors to the Festival. Owain Glyndwr caused mayhem in the Usk Valley in the fifteenth century, but Caerleon survived!
