Our pledges for the 2017 City election

  • Our candidates, Mike Singleton, Gail Giles and Jason Hughes have published their election pledges for the city elections on May 4th. They’ll:

    • Continue to oppose unwanted development, but press for a new rail station

    • Continue to support community projects, such as the Home Farm Play Area, Caerleon Festival, Christmas in Caerleon and Caerleon in Bloom

    • Ensure that the trend in reductions in crime and anti-social behaviour stays on course

    • Deliver the new Lodge Hill Primary School building & work with all our schools to build on their successes — of which there are many

    • Back the Welsh Labour Government’s preferred route for the new M4, which  includes a plan for the complete reopening of Caerleon’s Junction 25, on the present M4

    • Continue to monitor and look for solutions to traffic, air quality and parking problems”
