Our Councillors attended this months police surgery in Caerleon on Saturday morning.
We discussed with local residents the concerns that had been raised over the past few weeks including the behaviour of a minority of young people in and around the town including NHSOB and Caerleon AFC over the summer, Norman Street and church street. We are working with the local comprehensive to find solutions.
The issue of scooters and electric bikes is also high on the agenda as well as cars speeding in the town and along our main artery routes.
The police also set up a street surgery in Roman Way following the two armed robberies at McColls that were frightening experiences for their staff and local residents that where involved and the police are making positive progress with their enquiries.
The police station now has a regular and welcomed presence and police surgeries are proving popular and will continue on a monthly basis. Residents are also encouraged to contact our local officers via the Gwent police Facebook page or through the usual contact methods.
We will update residents regarding the date of the next surgery over the next few weeks.
